Bondi beach, located in East-Sydney (New South Wales) is one of the top rated beaches in Australia. This beach is active right from the sunrise and the activities continue till sunset, making it one of the most visited tourist attractions in Australia. If you are planning to visit Sydney, do not miss this beach. A great way to spend some quality time here is to walk aling the Bondi to Bronte coast – for around six kilometers along the cliffs. There are all sorts of entertainments you need all along the path – shops, restaurants, cafes etc. Also you can find skate park, ocean pools etc here. If you are visiting on a sunday, there is a good Sunday market too.
The main beach in the area is right in front of Bondi Pavillion. If you want to avoid the crowd, take a walk ahead and find a less crowded stretch. It is adviced to take care of yourself if you are planning to take a dip in the sea as ocassionally you may encounter strong tides, and as the security guards instructs, always stay within the safety flags.
Also there are a lot of surf schools operating all around the year, and you can learn surfing here, if you wish. You can also hire surfboards here.
Professional lifeguards are there all along the beach stretch, round the year. There is this Bondi Icebergs swimming club, one of the oldest in Australia, at Bondi beach. There are also pools for kids. If you are visiting Sydney, it is highly recommmended that you visit Bondi Beach for its liveliness, blue waters and white sands.
How to reach Bondi Beach: The beach is just 15 minutes drive from the city center (approximately 15 kms). Or you can opt to reach Bondi brach via NSW public transport. From the Town Hall, it roughly takes around 30 minutes to Bondi Beach. Or another option is to take the ferryride from Watsons Bay or Circular Quay, for a connecting bus to Bondi.
