You will be able to find a lot of small stalls opened here in the afternoon, like date selling stalls, juice vending stalls (predominantly orange juice stalls), henna painting stalls, snake charming stalls, and stalls with story tellers etc. The tribal drummers of Morocco will join the market once the night falls. You will also see small mobile restaurants all across the market as well as ladyboy dancers.

The walk through the Jemaa square is absolutely worth; be it at day time or at night – as both the times you will get entirely different experiences. We suggest you to visit the place in the evening before sunset and stay for a few hours or till late night so that you will definitely get to experience both of them 🙂

And yes, try out the food! You will find small stalls delicious grilled meats, salads and breads when you are inside the market and these are available even after midnight. Even if you don’t want to eat your stomach full, try out most of the stuff avaiable here. They are yummy.

Jemaa el Fna is declared as a “Masterpiece of World Heritage” in 2011 bu UNESCO (a thoroughly deserved declaration) and the place has got everything that is capable of amazing you. Watch the musical performers or slapstick comedy performers or story tellers… everything would amaze you.

Don’t be hesitant to negotiate for whatever you are planning to pay for. The atmosphere at every nook and corner of this square is absolutely fantastic and you are going to enjoy your visit!

While roaming around the Jemaa, keep an eye on your pocket as there are pick-pocketing reported, and also keep an eye on the rogue gropers.
